BENEFITS OF MASSAGE THERAPY
The healing benefits of massage therapy involve both the relaxation of the body and the positive effects on the mind. Research indicates that the rhythmic pressure of massage therapy lowers the body’s heart rate and increases blood circulation, which increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the cells while removing toxic waste products from the muscles.
Massage therapy promotes lymphatic flow, enhancing the immune system. It also lowers the level of stress hormones while boosting the production of endorphins, the body’s “natural pain killers”.
Ultimately, massage therapy increases the body’s resistance to illness and promotes a longer, healthier life.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER MY MASSAGE?
You should feel relaxed and rejuvenated, relieved of aches and pains. You will experience an increased range of motion throughout your body. The effects of massage therapy may be felt immediately or gradually.
INSURANCE COVERAGE
Many major medical insurance plans will reimburse you for all or part of the fees of your massage therapy. You may check with your human resources department at work or call the insurance provider directly to determine your coverage. Our office staff will be happy to provide you with detailed statements of your account.
